Simply SHRM.
Souls Harbour Rescue Mission offers respect, dignity, support. The core values are Love, Evangelism, Community, Integrity. And now in the 35th year, they continue to offer help and hope to men, women and children in Saskatchewan and likely beyond. Affordable Housing. Men’s Emergency Shelter. Women’s Addiction Program. Food. Daycare. Free Clothing. These are cornerstones in the story of Souls Harbour programs. And by the numbers 2025 shows that there is much to celebrate. Over 3 million meals served, more than 1 million pieces of clothing have kept people warm, dry and comfortable. There has been in excess of 100,000 nights of emergency shelter. Addiction programs have seen participants receive 120,000 hours of class time and over 2,500 counseling sessions. Graduates of programs have had life changing moments that now see them working for the Mission.
A bit of history includes; The Gerri Carrol Hope Centre opening in late 2018 on Angus Street. It replaced the original location on Halifax Street. Day care and affordable housing suites were added. The cluster of programs that we see today have helped men and women as well as families come to a better place by putting their health and relationships at a level of higher importance.
Over the last number of years of working in Regina, I have had the great opportunity to work with Souls Harbour during their Love Your Neighbour Banquet at the Conexus Arts Centre. 620 CKRM has been on location for their 2025 Chili Cook-off and will continue to support this organization as the 35th year is celebrated.
Just last month close to 500 people came by Souls Harbour for a hot dog, potato salad, chips and a drink. For some, this was their nourishment for the day. Many new faces came by, Regina residents that have enjoyed a meal on a regular basis dropped by to enjoy the afternoon. Their stories ranging from those that found saving money on groceries by having just a day for a week over the course of the year had helped them get through some very tough economic times. Of course pride plays a part of this. But when you are in need, the staff and volunteers are indeed there to offer a smile, a listening ear and guidance to your next move.
Life is hard. And with help of businesses, organizations, volunteers, donors big and small, a world of difference is realized.

620 CKRM will be on location in the latter part of August for another event. If you or your company are interested in making a donation of goods, services or money, the team at Souls Harbour would love to chat with you, take you on a tour or do a presentation to your staff. www.shrmsk.com
