Nothing says the end of August like the “BIG GAME” that brings together two very passionate fan bases. The Labour Day Classic is just what we need to spark the Rider Nation and the Blue Bomber faithful to “clash” at Mosaic Stadium. You’ve got the ticket, the car or van is packed with all the essentials; face paint, jersey, beads, ball cap or other costuming type of gear and now its time to roll into Regina. You have the accommodations set up, a visit to pick up your favourite snacks and drinks. A reservation or two made for group dinners, a designated driver is in place, NOW – let’s get that game underway.
First let’s just set up for the whole weekend. This includes the event at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday. Meet the players, visit the Rider Store and check out the 60th Anniversary swag. A time to get used to the Saskatchewan heat, weather and otherwise, stop at your favourite watering hole. I love this weekend for the energy it brings and a all round good feeling. Oh, don’t forget to make a Rider Faithful offering to the George and Ronnie statues on the West side of Mosaic Stadium. And the group picture by the FAN statue on the Northeast corner of Mosaic.
Get to the game early – watch the skies for a powerful military fly pass. And see you there. I’ll be in Section 140 Row 7 Seat 2 .. Season Ticket holder since 1985, I wouldn’t miss this game for anything!!!
Mark Habicht dropped into 620 CKRM Studios to give Rider Nation the update on Saskatchewan Roughriders’ Labour Day Weekend activities.
