Sunday, September 7th, yes, that’s this Sunday. Grab your sneakers and walk 2 km or 5km like your ovaries depend on it. Winnipeg Street and College Avenue will be blooming with Sunflowers, the smell of hotdogs and lots of teal to remind you of the Walk of Hope.
The Ovarian Cancer Care of Canada Walk of Hope is an uplifting event that brings supporters like the Regina Riot together with ovarian cancer survivors, family and friends that are champions at fundraising. Registration is on line OR on Sunday from 11:30 to 12:30. The walk begins at noon from Millar High School on College Avenue, Regina. Money raised through the event helps funding research, programming and other support for women diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
Deb Clark is one of the many responsible for the Regina, Saskatchewan Walk of Hope and gives us some inside information about joining the event this weekend. Ms Clark’s mother, Anne Chase is an ovarian cancer survivor and has been dominate in pushing for up-to-date screenings and positive changes in detection.
