SASKATOON — A 48-year-old man is facing charges after a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle in Saskatoon early Friday.
At around 2:15 a.m., officers spotted a vehicle linked to an earlier theft from a motor vehicle, according to Saskatoon police. When they attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle sped away.
Police used a tire deflation device to stop the vehicle in a parking lot in the 300 block of Circle Drive. Two suspects fled the scene, one running into a nearby business and the other toward Cynthia Street.
Both were arrested shortly afterward.
The man is charged with operating a motor vehicle while being pursued by police, operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner, theft over $5,000, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
A 33-year-old woman who was also arrested was released without charges.
