PIERCELAND — Update Sept. 22: On Sept. 21, Pierceland RCMP determined Ramona Ochuschayoo was at a residence on Big Island Lake Cree Nation. Officers attended the residence and located an adult female hiding inside. The female provided officers a false name, then resisted and kicked them during her arrest. The officers were not seriously injured, say police.
- one count, assault on police officer; and
- one count, resist peace officer.
Original post Sept. 8: Pierceland RCMP are looking for a Big Island Lake Cree Nation woman who has been charged with assault and weapons offences.
On Aug. 31, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Pierceland RCMP received a report of a serious assault on Big Island Lake Cree Nation.
Officers immediately responded. Investigation determined that a female assaulted a male victim. The victim was transported to hospital with what were described as serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of investigation, 31-year-old Ramona Ochuschayoo of Big Island Lake Cree Nation is charged with:
- one count, aggravated assault;
- one count, discharge with intent;
- one count, possession of a firearm while prohibited;
- one count, possession of a firearm without a license; and
- one count, fail to comply with release order.
A warrant has been issued for Ramona Ochuschayoo’s arrest and Pierceland RCMP are actively working to locate and arrest her.
Ramona Ochuschayoo is described as:
- Height: 5 ft 4 in
- Weight: 180 lbs
- Eye colour: brown
- Hair colour and style: black hair, possibly bleached blonde/orange
