PUNNICHY – A new court date has been set for a Muskowekwan (muss-COW-guhn) First Nation man, charged following the shooting of a Mountie in the community.
On July 24, an incident in the community involving a firearm, left an RCMP officer with non-life-threatening injuries, and a dangerous person alert was issued for 28-year-old Elijah Albert, who was captured a short time later in a rural area near Lestock.
Albert appeared in Punnichy Provincial Court Tuesday on four charges, including attempted murder and uttering threats.
He remains in custody, and will be back in court Sept. 23.
