Cut Knife RCMP – Sept. 2 to Sept. 7
The Cut Knife RCMP received 83 calls for service between Sept. 2 and 7. Files included well-being checks, reports of disturbances, traffic offences, mischief, assault, assault with a weapon, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Act calls, fire, theft of a vehicle, uttering threats, break and enter, harassing communication, collisions, suspicious persons, family disputes, animal calls, and assisting other agencies.
Notable files include:
On Sept. 4, RCMP were called to a local grocery store after a customer dropped suspected illicit drugs at the till while trying to pay for groceries. The drugs were seized, and the investigation is ongoing.
On Sept. 5, officers attended reports of stolen tools and fuel from a work site in the Poundmaker area. Later that day, a separate theft was reported at Marsden Regional Park, where unknown suspects broke into a cash box and shop, stealing money and tools. Both investigations are ongoing.
RCMP received a call regarding a 45-year-old male reportedly intoxicated and causing a disturbance at a residence. The individual allegedly attempted to break in, using profane language and making threats toward a resident and her family. Officers attended the suspect's house, and after he refused to cooperate, a Feeney warrant was obtained. Members subsequently entered the residence and arrested the individual without further incident.
Earlier in the week, on Sept. 2, a 44-year-old female was assaulted while walking home on Poundmaker Cree Nation. RCMP attended the scene and obtained a statement from the victim. A 51-year-old suspect was later identified and charged in connection with the assault.
Twenty-six traffic stops resulted in speeding violations, warnings, and roadside suspensions. Members also responded to two alarms.

Unity Report – Sept. 2 to Sept. 8
RCMP responded to a Mental Health Act complaint and spoke to the subject.
A complaint of harassing communications was received but unfounded.
Members conducted a well-being check at the request of a concerned citizen.
RCMP received a complaint of theft, which is under investigation.
Members acted as mediators in a custody dispute.
A 42-year-old male with no fixed address was charged with unauthorized possession and unsafe storage of a firearm after a report of an unwanted individual in a public area.
RCMP received another Mental Health Act complaint and transported the subject to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.
A complaint of failing to comply with an undertaking condition resulted in a verbal warning.
A complaint of disturbing the peace was unfounded.
RCMP received a complaint of uttering threats. Members spoke to the subject, and the complainant requested no further action.
A two-vehicle collision in Unity resulted in no injuries and no charges; reported for insurance purposes.
Other calls included four traffic complaints, one false alarm, and one false 911 call.
Wilkie Report
RCMP received a complaint of residential property damage, still under investigation.
A complaint of breaching an undertaking condition is under investigation.
A suspicious vehicle was reported near a residence; officers could not locate the subject.
A 69-year-old male from Wilkie was charged with uttering threats, mischief, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle after a report of an unwanted individual at a residence.
A dog complaint lacked sufficient evidence to proceed.
A youth was charged with assault and mischief following a complaint.
A trespassing complaint was unfounded, as was a complaint of disturbing the peace.
Three traffic complaints were also reported.
Macklin Report
A disturbing the peace complaint was unfounded.
RCMP assisted EMS with a patient.
Members attended the sudden death of a child; the death was not suspicious.
A fraud complaint is under investigation.
Trespassing and suspicious individual complaints are ongoing or lacked sufficient evidence.
A break and enter at Macklin Golf Clubhouse sheds is under investigation.
Damage to a table at Kinette Park lacked sufficient evidence to proceed.
One traffic complaint was also reported.
