We’re in the final weeks of summer and the signs of autumn are all around us from changing leaves to shorter days and cooler temperatures. The Weather Network has released their fall forecast for Canada and Saskatchewanians will enjoy nice weather for the next several weeks until November.
According to their forecast models, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta can expect temperatures to remain normal or above normal until the end of October, however meteorologists warn of cooler interruptions occasionally. Overall, residents of the Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg areas can expect warmer-than-normal temperatures this autumn which is welcome news for farmers who are in the process of completing harvest. Alberta, a province notorious for wild weather swings, can also expect pleasant weather this fall
As for precipitation, the Weather Network says the prairie provinces can expect levels to be near normal for this time of year with the exception of parts along the Manitoba/US border. North Dakota, South Dakota, most of Minnesota, and a small area of Manitoba along the international boundary can expect below normal precipitation this fall.
Meteorologists are reminding people to enjoy the nice weather over the next month and a half because they’re predicting an aggressive start to winter this year, particularly in November, however snow may start in October.
The first day of autumn is September 22nd.
