ESTEVAN – The Estevan Police Service has responded to a couple of collisions and a rollover in the past few days.
Police investigated a single-vehicle collision with a light standard on Kensington Avenue during the Sept. 10 day shift. The EPS said no injuries were reported in the collision and alcohol was not a factor.
Members received a request for a well-being check on an Estevan female. Members attended and spoke with the female who was found to be safe and well.
A rollover was reported Sept. 11 involving a small truck on the south side of Estevan. According to the EPS, no injuries occurred, but the vehicle sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene.
Officers responded to a central Estevan residence in response to reports of an intoxicated male damaging property. The 23-year-old Estevan man fled upon police arrival but was located nearby and was arrested for breaching release conditions. He was held in custody overnight to appear in court the following day.
Police responded to a downtown business alarm. Upon arrival, the building was found to be secure with no signs of suspicious activity.
A report came in of two stolen bicycles. Police obtained statements and the investigation is ongoing.
Police were alerted to a suspicious individual at a west end business. A 34-year-old Estevan man, known to police, was found to be in breach of his release conditions and was arrested. He was also held overnight pending a court appearance.
A motor vehicle collision occurred Sept. 12 at a central Estevan location. The EPS said both vehicles sustained minor damage and no injuries were reported.
The EPS received a report of a possible gas drive-off from a west-central Estevan service station. Members were able to contact the customer who didn’t realize their payment card didn’t work.
A report was received from a central Estevan senior’s residential complex regarding wilful damage inside the building. The matter remains under investigation.
An attempted fraud was reported from a local business. Statements were obtained and the matter is under investigation.
A report of a possible impaired driver entering into Estevan resulted in members locating the vehicle and conducting roadside screening tests. The driver showed no signs of impairment and passed the screening tests.
Several reports were received of the railway crossing arms malfunctioning on Kensington Avenue. CP Rail was contacted and they dispatched maintenance employees who corrected the issues.
EPS members responded to two separate reports Sept. 13 of a male outside of local businesses asking for money. Members located the individual and he was issued a ticket for panhandling under the bylaw.
A report of a possible impaired driver leaving a local business was received. Members patrolled the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
