PRINCE ALBERT — A woman was arrested Sunday afternoon in relation to an armed robbery conducted by patrol officers and the Prince Albert Police Service Canine Unit.
On Sept. 14, at 3:40 p.m., police were called to a business in the 2200 block of 6th Avenue East for a weapons call where police say they had been told a female threatened a male with a firearm, stole his vehicle, and fled the scene. Arriving officers located a 30-year-old male victim, who was not physically injured.
Officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle in the 600 block of 17th Street West, say police, and they followed the vehicle from a distance before it stopped in the 2100 block of 2nd Avenue West, and the occupants fled. Shortly after, officers were able to successfully arrest a female suspect. A police dog was also used to lead police to a backpack containing a firearm and ammunition.
As a result of this investigation, the 25-year-old woman has been charged with armed robbery and multiple firearms-related charges. She was scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Sept. 15.
