It’s not everyday that a real haunted house goes up for sale, but when one does it garners a lot of attention, especially if it has been made popular thanks to Hollywood. That’s the case for the house that served as the inspiration for the movie “The Conjuring,” which is about a family living in a haunted house in the 1970’s who must deal with the demonic possession of a family member. The Conjuring series spawned three more movies, including the most recent release “The Conjuring: Last Rites,” which has made over $332 million since its release earlier this month.
The house that served as the inspiration for the movie series will be auctioned off later this fall and it has already received significant attention. It was built sometime in the 1800’s and features three bedrooms and one and half baths. The wood-paneled house is located near Burrillville, Rhode Island and sits on eight acres of land.

The previous residents of the home, Cory and Jennifer Heinzen, claim they’ve seen paranormal activity in the home over the years of owning it. Things such as doors randomly opening and closing on their own, hearing voices in the house, knocking, and even seeing strange footprints have been been reported by the couple.
Appropriately enough, the house is set to hit the auction block on October 31st. The spooky abode was last sold in 2022 for a whopping $1.5 million.
