REGINA–Two men are facing multiple charges, including Attempted Murder, following a shooting incident that left an 11-year-old girl seriously injured in Regina last month.
Police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Edgar Street shortly after 2:00 a.m. on August 11. Upon arrival, officers found the young girl inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to hospital by EMS with serious injuries.
Over the past five weeks, investigators worked to identify and locate the suspects. On the evening of Tuesday, September 16, police arrested 20-year-old Anthony Nahbexie and 18-year-old Devon Nahbexie in connection with the incident.
Both individuals are jointly charged with:
- Attempted Murder
- Reckless Discharge of a Firearm
- Conspiracy to Commit Murder
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000
In addition, Devon Nahbexie faces two further charges of Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
