SASKATOON – Hyundai Canada, through its charitable foundation Hyundai Hope on Wheels, and 225 dealers nationwide, have donated $100,000 to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The recent event featured Hyundai’s flagship Handprint Ceremony, announcing that the full donation will go toward supporting paediatric cancer care programs at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH).
JPCH serves 575 communities in Saskatchewan, and last year alone, recorded more than 3,300 pediatric oncology and hematology patient visits.* The Pediatric Oncology and Day Medicine Unit at JPCH supports children and teens battling cancer by providing advanced treatments in a compassionate, child-friendly environment.
“Being here at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of the children and families facing paediatric cancer,” said Kristina Covello-Garcia, western zone manager at Hyundai Canada.
“We’re proud to stand alongside Saskatoon’s healthcare heroes and contribute to this important cause. Through this donation to paediatric oncology, we hope to bring a little more hope and support to these young patients and their families. Every handprint tells a story and we’re honoured to be part of it.”
To commemorate the donation, Hyundai Hope on Wheels a Handprint Ceremony, a tradition of the foundation. During the event, children affected by cancer and other young patients of JPCH, were invited to place their painted handprints on a white Hyundai vehicle, joined by their families, care teams and community members. Each handprint symbolizes courage, unity, and the ongoing fight to end childhood cancer.
“We are incredibly grateful to Hyundai Hope on Wheels for their generous support in advancing pediatric oncology equipment and programming here in Saskatchewan,” stated Troy Davies, CEO of JPCHF.
“Their commitment not only empowers our dedicated medical teams at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation, but also reminds families that they are not alone in their journey. Together, we are creating brighter futures for Saskatchewan children.”
