REGINA — The international trade centre in Regina has a new name attached to it.
On Monday, Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) and Bunge announced the rebrand of the venue to the "Bunge International Trade Centre". The change was necessary following the merger of Bunge and Viterra earlier this summer.
The trade centre is part of Regina's REAL District and offers a combined 90,000 square feet of flexible space for any event, notes a news release from REAL.
The centre has hosted numerous events including Canada's Farm Show, Canadian Western Agribition, Frost @REAL, Montana's Brier Patch, Gift of Giving Gala, Majestics Car Show, Skills Canada National Competition, Our Best to You Arts and Craft Show, Navaratri Festival, and the Sask Volleyball Cup.
President of REAL Rick Bennett told reporters that the grain company has been a supporter since the trade centre was established in November of 2017.
"When you look at the contribution to REAL, you know it's significant without question, but that's also a reflection of Viterra's transition to Bunge and Bunge's contribution to the community as a whole, so we welcome it as many of our other sponsors but obviously Bunge stands at attention compared to others."
The presenting sponsor of Canada's Farm Show also changes to Bunge from Viterra. The event is scheduled for March 17-19, 2026. REAL states exhibitor booths for next year's event will go on sale October 1st.
CEO of Bunge Canada Kyle Jeworski says the company and REAL have had a "robust relationship" for many years.
"For us, we got support of the trade centre, we support Mosaic Stadium with the (Saskatchewan Roughriders) as well but also we support the Cooperators Centre, so we got a pretty broad brush at this campus which we think is excellent. We think its the hub of trade and activity here in Regina so we're proud to continue to support. We would like to continue to see the type of events that are coming in here because we think they are great for the city and great for the community."
Jeworski said the agreement with REAL is a ten year term. The dollar amount was not disclosed.
