SASKATOON — Two Saskatoon men, ages 20 and 29, are in custody following a weapons incident on the weekend.
At approximately 9 p.m., Sept. 21, police were called to a retail business in the 1700 block of Preston Avenue North. Two males had been in the store and had been confronted by staff members about a theft. One male was observed to be armed with a knife. Both suspects attempted to flee on foot, however they were quickly brought into custody by police. A conducted energy weapon was deployed during one arrest. Officers were able to locate a knife and an improvised firearm at the scene.
The men are facing charges including armed robbery, possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of break and enter tools. Both men were also in breach of court condition.
