BROWNING — Conservation officers in the Estevan area are investigating the death of another moose.
According to a post on the Sasktip Facebook page, on Sept. 22, Estevan conservation officers became aware of a bull moose that had been unlawfully harvested at land location SE 16-06-05 W2, north of Browning.
The suspects had driven though a standing wheat field to retrieve the animal, which was barrel dressed with its antlers removed. According to the post, the investigation suggests the moose was killed sometime in the evening or night of Sept. 20.
The public’s assistance is needed to solve this case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Turn In Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) line at 1-800-667-7561. You don’t have to give your name and you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
Sasktip reported Sept. 25 that one or two moose had been unlawfully harvested in the Benson area.
