REGINA — The Regina Police Service says drivers in Regina may have noticed more officers on the streets over the last week. Police partners from across the province gathered in the city for an annual event, and the results are in.
The event was the annual Selective Traffic Enforcement Program blitz, bringing together provincial resources to focus on traffic enforcement and education in different Saskatchewan communities throughout the year. See the results below.
This year’s Regina blitz took place on Tuesday, Sept. 23, and Wednesday, Sept. 24. The event was hosted by the Regina Police Service in partnership with SGI and included representatives from the Saskatoon Police Service, Estevan Police Service, Prince Albert Combined Traffic Services (CTSS), Saskatchewan Highway Patrol, RCMP, and SGI Carrier Safety Services and Vehicle Standards and Inspection.
The statistics for the two-day S.T.E.P. blitz are as follows:

- Seatbelt Violations: 22
- Unregistered Vehicle: 7
- No Operators (Suspended Drivers/Invalid License): 6

- Mandatory Alcohol Screening Tests: 264
- Admin Suspensions/Impaired Driver (Predominantly Cannabis): 7
