REGINA – Two men and a woman are facing charges following a seven-week, multi-province investigation into a daytime robbery at a Regina jewellery store.
The incident occurred shortly after noon on Aug. 8, at a business located in the 400 block of Albert Street North. Regina Police Service officers responding to a robbery call arrived to find a significant damage, with several glass display cases smashed and emptied of their contents. The value of the stolen jewellery is estimated to be more than $200,000.
The Regina Police Service Criminal Investigation Unit was called in and worked with various RCMP detachments in both Alberta and Saskatchewan, the Saskatoon Police Service and the Edmonton Police Service to locate and arrest those responsible.
On Sept. 1, an adult male suspect and an adult female suspect were arrested by members of the Warman RCMP Detachment. A search of the vehicle they were in, subsequent to arrest, turned up evidence related to the robbery, forged documents and tools used to commit forgery. On Sept. 16, a second adult male suspect was arrested in Edmonton, Alta.
Waylon Tourangeau, 40, of no fixed address, is charged with robbery, possession of stolen property over $5,000, disguise with intent, possession of forgery instruments, identity theft, forgery of identity documents, and possession of counterfeit money.
Tourangeau appeared in a Regina court on Sept. 10.
Brianna Bouchie, 34, of Edmonton, is charged with robbery, possession of stolen property over $5,000, disguise with intent, possession of forgery instruments, identity theft, and possession of counterfeit money. She appeared in court on Sept. 8.
Rylan MacPhee, 18, of Edmonton is charged with robbery with violence and disguise with intent. He appeared in Regina court on Sept. 22.
