YORKTON – Suncrest College has opened applications for its 2026 programs, with two new additions aimed at meeting the changing needs of its students and employers across the province.
Starting in the fall of 2026, the college will introduce a Computer Networking Technician Certificate in Yorkton and a Mental Health and Wellness Diploma in Nipawin. Both programs will welcome 15 learners in their first year.
The networking certificate, brokered through Saskatchewan Polytechnic, will provide graduates with the credentials needed to write the Cisco Certified Network Associate exam, as well as the opportunity to pursue further certifications from Cisco, CompTIA and Microsoft.
Meanwhile, the two-year diploma in Nipawin is being offered in partnership with the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies. It combines classroom instruction, counselling labs and field placements, while incorporating both Indigenous and Western-based approaches to healing and addiction counselling.
“Bringing programs like the Computer Networking Technician Certificate and Mental Health and Wellness Diploma to our region ensures learners can access high-demand training close to home,” said Teri Thompson, vice-president of academic and learner engagement at Suncrest College. “We’re helping prepare a skilled workforce to meet the needs of local employers and industries.”
Admission for most programs is on a first-qualified, first-admitted basis. The college encourages early applications to avoid being placed on a waitlist. Applications can be submitted online at suncrestcollege.ca.
