REGINA – What began as a routine traffic stop for a vehicle traveling without headlights early Thursday morning led to the seizure of multiple weapons, including a sawed-off rifle, say Regina Police Service.
At approximately 2 a.m. on Oct. 2, officers observed a vehicle travelling westbound on 4th Avenue without its lights on. When they pulled over the vehicle, they found three occupants inside. They determined the driver didn’t have a valid license, and the vehicle, registered to one of the passengers, was unregistered.
One passenger was found to have an outstanding warrant and was arrested.
As the occupants got out of the vehicle, officers noticed what appeared to be a sawed-off rifle lying on the floor behind the front passenger seat. The driver and the remaining passenger were then arrested.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded sawed-off rifle, two bulletproof vests, an axe, brass knuckles, an airsoft gun, and various gun parts.
Brayden Olson, 22, was charged with several firearm-related offences and failing to comply with a court-ordered condition.
Eric Worm, 23, faces similar weapons charges and failing to comply with a condition of a court undertaking.
Kobe Fiddler, 23, was charged with multiple firearm offences.
All three made their first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Oct. 2.
