HUMBOLDT — On Oct. 3, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Humboldt RCMP responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highways 16 and 20, near Lanigan.
Police say an SUV and tractor-trailer unit collided. A passenger in the SUV, a man who is a citizen from another country, was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. His family has been notified. RCMP are not providing additional details about the deceased.
The driver and two additional passengers were in the SUV at the time of the collision. They were transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
The lone adult male driver in the tractor-trailer unit did not report any injuries to police.
Highway 16 was temporarily closed but has since been re-opened. Also responding were local fire and EMS
Humboldt RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
