SASKATOON – The early indication is that Carla Beck has received an overwhelming endorsement from her party to remain leader of the Saskatchewan NDP.
Final results are expected to be announced soon, but a source within the NDP speaking anonymously to Sask Today says Beck has received massive support from delegates to the Saskatchewan NDP convention in Saskatoon. The showing by Beck was described as the highest post-election leadership review result in the history of the NDP.
It means Beck will stay on as leader of the NDP in the province. She has been at the helm since winning the leadership contest in June 2022. In the 2024 provincial election, the party made major gains up to 27 seats in the 61-seat Legislative Assembly.
The NDP convention is slated to continue today and Sunday.
