RCMP investigating fatal Highway 55 crash near Nipawin

NIPAWIN — The death of a pedestrian on a highway near Nipawin is under investigation, with no identification yet.

On Oct. 2, at approximately 6 a.m., Nipawin RCMP received a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 55, east of Nipawin.

Officers and local fire and EMS responded. The pedestrian was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. Officers are working to identify the deceased in consultation with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and can provide no further details at this time.

Police say the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene, reporting no injuries

Nipawin RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
