MOOSOMIN FIRST NATION — Three people have been charged with kidnapping and attempted murder after a serious assault at a residence on Moosomin First Nation Sept. 14. One of those charged is still at large, with an earlier arrest warrant for a charge of manslaughter in the death of 22-year-old Quin Squair from Wilkie.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford Provincial General Investigation Section is working to locate 25-year-old Wionna Katcheech of Moosomin First Nation and is asking members of the public to report all sightings of her and information on her whereabouts. Wionna Katcheech is described as approximately 5’4” and 160 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Two others have been arrested for the Sept. 14 assault, where, police say, a group of individuals in a vehicle approached a man and a woman, assaulted and stole the man’s personal effects, and forced the woman into their vehicle. They drove away and later assaulted her, say police, but she was able to escape and seek help. She was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature. The male victim reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.
