SASKATOON — A jury trial has been scheduled for January 2026 for Katlim Kristian John Desjarlais-Kelly who is charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting last year.
The charge stems from a Feb. 10, 2024, incident in the Caswell Hill neighbourhood, where Saskatoon police responded to reports of an injured man shortly before 7 a.m.
Officers arrived at a home located at 238 Avenue K North and discovered 48-year-old Arden Panipekeesick suffering from a gunshot wound. Panipekeesick was later pronounced dead, becoming Saskatoon’s second homicide victim of 2024.
Police confirmed that Desjarlais-Kelly, now 22, and Panipekeesick were known to each other.
The trial will be held in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench.
