SASKATOON – A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for January 2026 in the case of a man charged with second-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Kade Lee.
Aaron Lakota Ironstand, 29, is accused of fatally shooting Lee outside St. Mary’s Church in Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood on April 16, 2024. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of 20th Street West where Saskatoon police responded to reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found Lee suffering from a gun-shot wound. He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The following morning, mourners began gathering at the site of the shooting, leaving behind flowers, handwritten notes, cigarettes, and a teddy bear in tribute.
One card read, “Kade: I love you and I miss you my boy.”
Lee’s death marked Saskatoon’s eighth homicide of 2024.
Ironstand was arrested in January and remains in custody.
