YORKTON – Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating a suspicious death following the discovering of a deceased male outside a home on Victoria Avenue in Yorkton.
At about 3:10 p.m. on Oct. 7, Yorkton RCMP got a report of the body and responded, securing the scene. Police haven’t released the identity of the deceased and say efforts to confirm his identity are ongoing.
Due to the nature of the circumstances, the death is being treated as suspicious and major crimes has taken over the investigation.
Major Crimes is asking anyone who lives in the 100-block area of Victoria Avenue in Yorkton to check their home security cameras and doorbell cameras between noon on Oct. 5 and the afternoon on Oct. 7. If your device captured images or videos of suspicious activity, please report it to police immediately by calling 310-RCMP. Investigators advise there will be an increased police presence in the 100–block area of Victoria Avenue in Yorkton for an undetermined amount of time.
If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, RCMP say they will notify the public.
