LLOYDMINSTER – Charges have been stayed against Dakota Thunder Whitstone, the 32-year-old man who was wanted by Lloydminster RCMP in September.
Whitstone was facing charges of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable act and two counts of failing to comply with a court order, stemming from a June incident in Lloydminster, Sask.
A stay of proceedings puts the charges on hold. The Crown has one year to reactivate the case, but it is rare for stayed charges to be revived. The Crown isn’t required to provide a reason for the stay.
