ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service is asking for information from the public following a collision that occurred at the intersection of Fourth Street and Second Avenue during the evening of Oct. 8.
According to the EPS, the cyclist, a 31-year-old Estevan man was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after calling 911. The matter remains under investigation.
Also on Oct. 8, police received a report in the early evening of a young teen hopping a deck railing onto an apartment patio in central Estevan. Residents were home at the time and quickly scared away the suspect and two other individuals. A brief description was provided to police and the matter remains under investigation.
Officers attended to a local care home for a report of a resident being unlawfully in the room of another person. After speaking with staff and the complainant, police determined nothing criminal had occurred and members consulted with staff about safety measures.
Officers attended to a report of a female refusing to leave St. Joseph’s Hospital when asked. Shortly after police arrived, the female left without incident.
A man was reported to be causing a disturbance at a local residence. Members attended and spoke with those involved to mediate a resolution.
A man was reported to be panhandling in the downtown area. Members attended and located him. He was warned about his actions and provided information about community services available to assist him.
A report was received of a two-vehicle collision in north Estevan. On arrival, the EPS said the collision was non-reportable to police and the drivers received assistance to exchange information needed for an SGI report.
