REGINA – One of two men charged in connection with a fatal shooting of Roman Miller in downtown Regina has been released from custody, according to the Regina Provincial Court.
Shredek Samuel, who along with Daniel “Juma” Drie Atem, faces a first-degree murder charge, was wanted by Regina police following the July 29, 2023, homicide on the 2100 block of Broad Street. Miller, 32, was found dead at the scene, prompting a months-long investigation and nationwide search.
Samuel surrendered to RCMP in British Columbia in early 2024. Samuel, now out of custody, is expected to appear in court in person on Nov. 27.
His co-accused, Daniel “Juma” Drie Atem, was listed on the BOLO Program’s ‘Top 25’ most wanted fugitives before being apprehended in Winnipeg in January.
Atem remains in custody and is scheduled to appear via CCTV from the remand centre on Oct. 23.
