REGINA – The victim of a bus-stop crash in Regina early Sunday morning has been identified.
Marvellous Ugochukwu Chijindu, a 19-year-old, was waiting for a bus along Dewdney Avenue when a freight truck crashed into the bus stop she was in.
A GoFundMe for Chijindu has been set up.
The GoFundMe has raised over $10,000 as of Thursday afternoon with the campaign goal set at $14,000.
As for the investigation, Regina Police Service Acting Chief Lorilee Davies on Tuesday said they’re currently sifting through evidence of the accident.
“We’ll have more news in the coming days regarding that investigation, but as you can imagine, there was a lot of information gathered at the scene.”
Davies couldn’t say whether the driver of the truck had been distracted or intoxicated while driving.
She also wasn’t sure of what additional safety measures could have prevented this accident.
