REGINA – Two people have been charged following a homicide investigation in Regina.
One man and a woman are charged with second-degree murder following an investigation into a homicide that occurred in October.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 13, police responded to a call for service in the 100 block of College Avenue. Upon arrival, police located a deceased male. Officers secured the area and requested the additional resources of the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit, the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. An investigation, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, began.
The investigation determined the death to be a homicide, and as a result: 22-year-old Toni Moffatt and 24-year-old Andre Smith are both charged with second-degree murder.
The two accused were to make their first appearances on this charge in Regina Provincial Court on Oct. 23.
Both accused are currently in custody.
Moffatt’s next court appearance is Nov. 6, while Smith is next scheduled to appear on Oct. 30.
