NORTH BATTLEFORD — Update, Oct. 28, 4:10 p.m.: Battlefords RCMP have arrested wanted woman Angel Bear on Oct. 28 in North Battleford.
She is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Oct. 29.
Original post, Oct. 27, 5 p.m.: Battlefords RCMP have charged three women following a robbery in North Battleford.
On Oct. 22 at approximately 8 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a robbery at a business on the Highway 16 Bypass in North Battleford.
Investigation determined a group of individuals entered the business, threatened a male with a knife, and demanded the male’s phone and wallet. The group left the business in a vehicle. No physical injuries were reported to police.
Officers responded immediately and observed the suspect vehicle leaving a nearby parking lot. Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle pulled over. As a result of investigation, one male and five females were arrested. During the arrest, one of the females provided a false name to officers.
A 21-year-old woman, from Mosquito, Grizzly Bear's Head, Lean Man First Nation, and 33-year-old woman, from North Battleford, are each charged with:
- one count, robbery;
- one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000; and
- one count, uttering threats against a person.
The 21-year-old suspect is additionally charged with one count, resists/obstructs peace officer.
The 33-year-old suspect was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Battlefords RCMP.
The two accused appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on Oct. 23.
The male and three other females were later released without charge.
One woman is wanted in the incident.
As a result of continued investigation, 35-year-old Angel Bear, from North Battleford, is charged with:
- one count, robbery; and
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000.
A warrant has been issued for Angel Bear’s arrest. Battlefords RCMP continue work to locate Bear and ask members of the public to report sightings and information on her whereabouts.
Bear is described as:
- Height: 5’2”
- Weight: 100 lbs
- Eye colour: green
- Hair colour: brown
