KAMSACK – A youth is facing several charges after a violent incident over the weekend on Keeseekoose First Nation.
Kamsack RCMP detachment got a report at about 2:45 a.m. on Oct.26 that an injured person had been located on the Keeseekoose First Nation. When officers arrived, they found a woman, who was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.
RCMP say their investigation determined she had been assaulted. Kamsack RCMP arrested a teenaged boy at a home in the community shortly after.
The youth, who can’t be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and assault with a weapon.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on Oct. 30.
