PRINCE ALBERT – A man has been ordered to stand trial in the death of his mother.
Court records show a preliminary hearing was held Oct. 27 to 31 in Prince Albert Provincial Court for Everett Austin Constant who is accused of killing his 51-year-old mother Beverly Constant.
The sequence of events on May 3, 2024, started with a medical call and ended with a homicide investigation.
According to Prince Albert Police Service, the incident started when officers were called to assist paramedics at a home on the 2800 block of 28th Street West. The purpose was to help Parkland Ambulance take Everett Constant to Victoria Hospital.
Later that day, while at the hospital, police say he assaulted staff. After being medically cleared, he was arrested for the assault and held in police cells. He was released the next day and a promise to appear in court on the assault charges against hospital staff.
Hours later, police were dispatched back to the same home for a family dispute. When officers arrived, they found Beverly Constant deceased. Everett Constant was then arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
