REGINA – The Regina Police Service is reminding the public, once again, to pay close attention to Halloween candy after a second report of candy possibly being tampered with.
This latest report comes from Northwest Regina in the Fairways West area. The caller reports finding a chocolate bar amongst their child’s Halloween candy, with what appears to be a piece of thin metal inside, similar to a needle. The child was trick or treating in the areas of Fairways West, Westhill and Normanview West/Prairie View near 1st Avenue North.
On Oct. 31, police received a similar call from the Greens on Gardiner area in East Regina. The caller told police their child was trick or treating in an area near Green Moss Lane, specifically portions of the following streets; Green Moss Lane, Green Bank Road, Green Apple Drive, Green Water Drive, Green Spruce Place and Green Brook Road.
At this time, the investigation into both of these incidents is ongoing. No one was injured in either incident. Police are reminding everyone, no matter what area you live in, to check candy closely before consuming and contact police at 306-777-6500 to report anything suspicious.
