REGINA – The Regina Police Service is turning to the public for assistance in locating a firearm believed to be connected to a weekend homicide.
Investigators believe the firearm may have been disposed of in the area following the homicide on Nov. 1. The area of focus is Saskatchewan Drive to Victoria Avenue, Montreal Street to Wallace Street.
RPS Major Crimes and Forensics Unit investigators remain in the area – continuing their investigative efforts. Due to the potential public safety risk, the RPS is asking area residents to check all areas around their property including, but not limited to, eavestroughs, shrubs, under decks and inside any unsecured sheds or garages.
Residents are asked to contact police at 306-777-6500 if they locate anything that may assist in the investigation, including a firearm. Do not touch the weapon. Stay with it and contact police immediately.
