REGINA – Energy and optimism filled the mâmawêyatitân centre as residents gathered for Community Wellness Day, a celebration of connection, care and community support in the heart of North Central Regina.
The event welcomed families, youth and community members for an afternoon of free food, haircuts, and access to local health and social services. Booths offered information on wellness programs, housing support, crisis response, and cultural resources, all aimed at helping residents find the tools they need to thrive.
The mâmawêyatitân centre, whose name means “let’s all be together” in Cree, brings that vision to life year-round. Home to a high school, library, childcare centre and recreation spaces, it serves as a cornerstone for learning, connection and belonging in the community.
Organizers said the purpose of the day was not only to provide practical support but also to build relationships and remind residents that help is close to home.
By the end of the afternoon, the centre was filled with conversation and collaboration, a reflection of what happens when a community truly comes together to care for its own.
Those interested in volunteering or supporting the mâmawêyatitân centre’s ongoing programs can contact the centre directly or visit the City of Regina’s website to learn more about ways to get involved and help strengthen community wellness in North Central Regina.
