REGINA — Luther College in Regina has officially installed its new president.
Dr. Tom Phenix has been appointed as the ninth president in the school’s history.
“I am deeply honoured and deeply aware of the trust you have placed in me. I am committed to ensuring Luther College will be a community of care, where students are known by name and supported in every dimension of their learning,” said Phenix.
Phenix spoke on ensuring the school is student- and future-ready, while remaining committed to connecting rigorous liberal arts to real-world challenges.
“The world needs graduates who can think critically, act compassionately, bridge divides, and persevere when the way is hard. Luther has been forming such people for generations. Together, we will continue to shape a more grace-filled, just and joyful world — faithfully, creatively and boldly.”
Phenix previously served as a dean and professor/associate professor of psychology at Champion College, according to his LinkedIn page.
He studied cognitive psychology at the University of Saskatchewan from 1999 to 2024.
