SASKATCHEWAN – RCMP continue to investigate a string of six suspicious deaths across the province, including a triple homicide near Turtleford.
On Nov. 5, Turtleford RCMP were called to a rural property northwest of town, where three men were found with serious injuries. According to RCMP, officers attempted life-saving measures, but all three were pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed that each victim had sustained gunshot wounds and labelled it a triple homicide.
Multiple firearms were seized from the property. One of the victims was identified as known street gang member Tonio Cantell, 28, from Island Lake First Nation. Another was a 46-year-old man from Turtleford. The third victim hasn’t been identified. Madison Paddy-Jimmy, 25, from Thunderchild First Nation, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Cantell’s death.
At a press conference in Regina Friday, Ashley St. Germaine, Senior Investigative Officer with the RCMP Major Crimes Branch, provided updates on recent investigations.
On Nov. 2, 18-year-old Melissa Charles was killed in La Ronge. Keyland McLeod, 26, from Grandmother’s Bay, has been charged with second-degree murder, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats, she said.

On Nov. 6, Broadview RCMP responded to a report of an injured man in a home in Whitewood. The man was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead, say police. A male youth was arrested at the scene. He sustained minor injuries during the arrest and was taken to hospital as a precaution. He was later charged with first-degree murder. Both the man and the youth are from the Broadview area, say police.
RCMP say investigations into all incidents are ongoing, with assistance from the Forensic Identification Section, local detachments, and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
At this time, RCMP haven't said whether there are any connections between the cases.
