THE BATTLEFORDS — A Moosomin First Nation has been charged after RCMP recovered a stolen dirt bike and various stolen tools, after thefts police happened on two different dates.
On Oct. 28, Battlefords RCMP received a report of a theft from a residence in Summerfield Beach area in which a dirt bike was stolen from the property and another on Nov. 4., again from the Summerfield Beach area, in which tools were stolen from a vehicle.
The North Battleford Crime Reduction Team – Gang Task Force completed an investigation into the thefts, and with the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence on Moosomin First Nation for the stolen property on Nov. 6.
At the residence, say police, officers recovered the stolen dirt bike and tools, located and seized ammunition, and arrested a male and five females at the scene.
A 26-year-old man from Moosomin First Nation is charged with:
- two counts, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; and
- one count, weapons possession contrary to order.
