REGINA — Thousands gathered at Victoria Park for a powerful Remembrance Day ceremony that filled the downtown core with reflection and gratitude. Veterans, active service members, first responders, government representatives and residents from Regina and surrounding communities stood shoulder to shoulder in honour of those who served and sacrificed for Canada.
The crisp November air carried the sound of the Last Post as poppies fluttered in stillness across the crowd. From decorated officers to young children clutching handmade wreaths, the moment bridged generations, reminding everyone that remembrance is not just a tradition, but a responsibility.
Dozens of wreaths were laid at the foot of the Cenotaph, a historic monument that has stood in Victoria Park since 1926, symbolizing nearly a century of collective remembrance in the heart of the city. Each wreath placed by veterans, organizations and families represented a story of service and loss, as well as the enduring promise to never forget.
Following the official ceremony, many remained quietly at the Cenotaph to place their poppies on the memorial, a small but powerful gesture of unity and respect. It was a moment that reflected both the solemnity of the day and the strength of community that defines Regina.
Our video captures the sights and sounds of this year’s ceremony, the music, the tributes and the faces of a city united in remembrance. It stands as a timeless reminder that freedom is never free, and that the act of remembering ensures their sacrifice lives on.
