SASKATOON — A man arrested following a major drug bust by Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) in Stonebridge neighbourhood made his first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Nov. 13.
Ashwinger Singh Sarao, 21, appeared by CCTV and he was remanded in custody. A bail hearing is scheduled for Dec. 3.
Sarao faces nine drug trafficking and proceeds of crime-related charges.
The charges were laid on Nov. 6 after SPS Crime Reduction Team (CRT) initiated an enforcement action in the 1100 block of Kolynchuk Link.
Sarao was arrested at the scene. After his arrest, police executed a search warrant at a home and seized $22,513 CAD, 743.2 grams of fentanyl, 552.9 grams of methamphetamine, 362 grams of cocaine, 750 mL of gamma-hydroxybutyrate, multiple mobile phones, and assorted paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
