ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service is investigating a couple of thefts that were reported earlier this week.
Members were called Nov. 11 about a reported identity theft. The matter is still under investigation.
That same day, police received a reported clothing theft from a donation box. Members located a number of the stolen articles and returned them to the affected charity. The theft is still under investigation.
In other recent police news, members were called to a couple of commercial property alarms Nov. 10. The EPS said officers attended, and determined everything was fine and likely a false alarm.
The EPS’s Police and Crisis Team (PACT) attended to St. Joseph's Hospital to participate in an inter-agency presentation.
Police received a report Nov. 11 of a vehicle blocking the complainant’s neighbour’s parking stall. Members were unable to attend immediately as they were attending to what the EPS said was a higher-priority call. When police did attend, they contacted the owner of the vehicle involved and had it moved.
The EPS received a report of an alarm at a local bank. Members attended and an alarm was ringing. Officers could not locate a property representative and the alarm company had not reached out to the police. The alarm eventually reset itself.
EPS patrol members, along with the PACT unit, responded to a complaint Nov. 12 of a domestic disturbance in progress. A resolution was mediated between those involved and no further issues were reported.
An erratic driver was reported to be operating a vehicle in the downtown area. The driver was located a short time later and was warned.
Police received a report of a stolen vehicle. Patrols were conducted in the area and the vehicle was located. According to the EPS, an investigation determined the owner had forgotten where the vehicle was parked and had assumed it was stolen.
A hit-and-run collision was reported at a local restaurant parking lot. Surveillance video of the collision has been obtained and a suspect vehicle was identified. The matter remains under investigation.
A ticket for stunting was issued to a youth and several others were warned after a report of vehicles being driven erratically near Mel Murray Cactus Park.
