SASKATOON — A third person has been charged in connection with the death of Timothy Tootoosis.
Twenty-seven-year-old Michael Alfred McCallum from Prince Albert faces charges of first-degree murder and offering an indignity to human remains. According to court documents he was arrested on Nov. 13.
McCallum appeared in court representing himself. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear again on Nov. 18. He will also appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court for charges he faces there.
Two others were previously charged. On Nov. 12, Michael Shawn Landry, 40, of Saskatoon, was arrested and charged the next day with first-degree murder offering an indignity to human remains, and unlawful confinement. Landry appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Thursday, where he was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 17.
On Wednesday, Donovan Wiebe Lemstra, 41, of Calgary, made his first appearance in Saskatoon court. He is charged with first-degree murder, offering an indignity to human remains and unlawfully confinement.
The investigation began on Dec. 18, 2024, when Saskatoon police found a man dead while executing a search warrant at a home in the in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood of the city, in 1700 block of 22nd West. The victim was later identified as Tootoosis.
