REGINA — Dad’s Diner owner Tim Philp says the restaurant was robbed after hours on the night of Nov. 11. Philp says several items taken, including the work phone, sound system, and the Remembrance Day donation box meant for the Royal Canadian Legion.Instead of focusing on what was lost, Philp is urging the community to help restore the spirit behind the donation box.
He decided that for the rest of November, $1 from every cinnamon bun sold will go directly to the Royal Canadian Legion to support veterans and their families.
Philp says Regina has always rallied when it matters, and he’s hopeful this simple gesture will help rebuild the contributions intended for the poppy campaign.
Each cinnamon bun now carries a deeper purpose, offering residents a way to honour the service and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans.
