REGINA — Janet Kotylak has been re-elected chair of the Prairie Valley School Division Board of Education and Terry Berglund has been re-elected as vice chair.
Both were re-elected by Wednesday’s annual organizational board meeting.
“Prairie Valley is making significant strides in improving learning opportunities for all students and we are excited to continue this work alongside our dedicated employees, parents and guardians and school community councils,” Kotylak said.
Kotylak, who farms near Montmartre, was first elected to the Prairie Valley Board of Education in 2005 and has served as board chair since 2012. She has also served on numerous provincial boards focusing on a wide range of education issues. Kotylak says she strongly believes in the importance of the board’s role to ensure Prairie Valley communities have a voice in decisions about public education.
Terry Berglund was first elected to the Prairie Valley Board of Education in 2014 and has served as vice chair since 2023. Before her election to the Prairie Valley board, Berglund worked as a speech language pathologist and student services professional in southeast Saskatchewan for 34 years.
“I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished together and remain deeply committed to supporting our students, staff, and communities,” Berglund said.
“I look forward to continuing to advocate for meaningful learning experiences that help every student reach their full potential.”
Kotylak and Berglund’s terms are scheduled to run until November 2026.
