SASKATOON — A 22-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges after a Friday afternoon incident that started with several reports of an impaired driver.
The series of events started at approximately 4 p.m. on Nov. 14, when police communications were flooded with calls from concerned citizens reporting a vehicle being driven erratically. Callers described the car swerving and striking curbs.
Officers located the vehicle driving in the area of Airport Drive and Cynthia Street and attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle didn’t stop and continued to be driven erratically. Eventually, the driver pulled into a nearby parking lot. While attempting to park, the driver struck a parked vehicle before then striking the police vehicle.
He was arrested without further incident. He is charged with dangerous driving, driving while being pursued by police, impaired driving, and driving while over .08.
