REGINA — A 16-year old boy charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 19-year-old Tyreek Ewenin-Crowe was remanded in custody following his first court appearance. He is scheduled to return to Regina Provincial Court on Nov. 27.
The youth, who can’t be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is one of four people charged in connection with the homicide. The incident occurred on Nov. 1, when police were called to a home on the 1000 block of 12th Avenue in the Heritage neighbourhood and found a man, later identified in court documents as Ewenin-Crowe, suffering a gunshot wound.

In addition to the murder charge, the teen is also charged with possession of a firearm when prohibited, and failing to comply with release conditions.
Trevor Whitequill, 44, and Dana Delorme, 43, are charged with accessory after the fact to murder, while a 17-year-old girl is charged with accessory after the fact to murder and two firearms-related offences.
