REGINA — The Regina Downtown Business Improvement District is to kick off the holiday season at its annual tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 20, now set for a new location at the northeast corner of Victoria Park.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and is free for all ages. According to the Regina Downtown BID’s social media announcement, the evening will feature carolling, hot chocolate, horse-drawn carriage rides and appearances from classic Christmas characters.
Organizers describe the celebration as “the most magical night of the year in Downtown Regina,” marking the unofficial start of the holiday season in the city’s core.
Free parking will be available at the Cornwall Centre, the SaskPower parking lot after 5 p.m., and on downtown streets after 5 p.m.
The BID encourages families, friends and visitors to bundle up and enjoy the festive atmosphere in Victoria Park as the community gathers to light the downtown Christmas tree.
